SUGAR HOUSE ISLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL (MU1)

Following the approval of initial proposals for a two-form entry primary school in Dane’s Yard in 2016, revised plans have now been prepared to deliver outstanding educational facilities for children living in Sugar House Island and the surrounding area. The school will be delivered in a three-storey building and provide a high-quality indoor and outdoor learning environment. The Big Education Trust (formerly School 21) is the intended operator.

Architect

The architect for Sugar House Island Primary School is Penoyre & Prasad, a design-led practice, with over 30 years of experience. Their distinctive design approach is a direct response to the aims and ambitions of their clients and building users, resulting in functional, sustainable and award-winning buildings. They have recently completed the Bobby Moore Academy, split across two sites in The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park; and designed, like Sugar House Island’s school, to maximise opportunities for community use.

Vastint UK is consulting on this next phase of the school on 1 May 2019.
