OFFICES ON THE HIGH STREET (MU2)
Following an initial scheme approved in 2015, Vastint instructed CJCT Architects to prepare revised proposals for the three buildings which make up plot MU2. The aim is to deliver an active and outward facing development along High Street, Stratford.
At pedestrian level, a number of retail, restaurant and café units, as well as an exhibition space, are clustered around courtyards, the High Street and Chimney Walk. These provide an attractive and accessible environment for future residents, workers and visitors. MU2 is within the Sugar House Lane Conservation Area and the architectural proposal draws on the site’s industrial heritage.
The new application follows the development parameters established by the 2012 Hybrid Planning Permission for the wider Sugar House Island site and, subject to planning approval, it is anticipated that the development will provide approximately 27,000m2 of office floorspace alongside 4,000m2 of ancillary commercial uses.
Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher (CJCT) is a leading UK architecture and interior design firm, with a reputation for delivering quality, sustainable, award-winning designs across all building sectors. Vastint UK is consulting on this next phase of Sugar House Island on 1 May 2019.
