October construction update at Sugar House Island
We asked Vicky, Project Manager for Vastint UK, for an update on works on site.
The internal fit out has begun on both 1 Dane’s Yard and 1 Sugar House Lane. Works to the external elevations are progressing with the cladding being started to 1 Sugar House Lane. These buildings are the furthest advanced and the scaffold should start to be removed before the end of the year.
The new timber frame for 3 Sugar House Lane has been installed, and we are refurbishing the historic element of the building at the moment.
The concrete frame for 2 Dane’s Yard is now complete. This will stay as a frame for the next month with the external brickwork to this future bar beginning later in the year.
Floor slabs are now installed in 1 Cooperage Yard, with the external envelope lining starting.
Foundations and internal structural works are progressing on The Sugar House and these will complete during the next weeks.
The external stone cladding is being installed on the riverside part of the building which will complete shortly. Internally, works are progressing well.
Structural works are progressing, the team has reached the fourth floor by the river and other buildings are close behind. The external stone cladding is being manufactured off site and this will arrive and begin to be installed in late November.
The rest of the site
Building work will begin here when the works on the first two residential plots have progressed further. The last remaining chimney has been signed off for dismantling (before being reinstalled in the pedestrianised Chimney Walk), these works will complete by the end of this year.
