A VISIT TO THE CARMELITE CAFÉ
Tucked away on a quiet alleyway, just off the hubbub of Bow Road, is the Carmelite Café, which is run by the Bow Arts Trust along with the adjacent art gallery. They’re both housed in a former nunnery, an interesting old building with a light and modern interior. It’s one of our favourite spots for a quick lunch or afternoon break, with friendly service and a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, soup, cakes and great coffee! They have tables outside in warm weather and there’s also a small park to the rear of the building, which is another good place to relax on a sunny day. Or you can finish your lunch break with a visit to the gallery, which has changing exhibitions including local artists and scenes. It’s well worth a visit to this interesting and peaceful little place.
